The more complex the process, the more it needs simplification
When people first started building AI applications a couple of years ago, many had a misconception: they thought they had to design especially complex workflows for AI, making it play this role and that role, almost writing a script for it. Product manager agents, code review agents, everything sounded very lively.
But recent practical experience tells us that as models themselves become smarter, those manually designed complex frameworks can become burdens instead. It is like training a new employee in the past: you had to teach them every step by hand. But now you have hired a senior expert, and you still insist that they follow your clumsy method step by step, which only prevents them from doing their best work.
The current trend is “less is more.” Remove those artificial rules and make direct use of the model’s strong reasoning ability. You will find that as long as you give it enough information and permissions, it can organize the work by itself. This process of removing scaffolding is actually a sign that AI capabilities are maturing. When making technical decisions, we should also be careful not to be dazzled by fancy agent frameworks. Often, the simplest structure is the most effective.
